Until a few years ago, there used to be a physical ticket office at the Colosseum. The lines were ever so long and it was impossible to get a ticket, but a trick I used to get tickets if I decided to visit spontaneously was to go to the Roman Forum, where the line was not nearly as long. In fact, as I have explained before, Colosseum tickets would include admission to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and vice versa.
Below you can see the prices for all colosseum tickets. By buying your colosseum tickets online you will incur a slight mark up on the price that corresponds to the booking fee, in exchange for the advantages listed above: skipping the line, being able to choose the date and time slot of your visit, not being left without tickets because there are too many visitors on a given day, etc.
You cannot buy tickets on the spot and on location: the people offering tickets to you outside of the colosseum are not authorised resellers and one of the reasons why getting tickets has become so hard. 59ce067264
